How do I buy a gift voucher for someone?

Gift vouchers are easy. Go to any lesson's booking calendar, and tick the box marked "I want it for a gift" โ€” that way you don't need to choose a date. Pick what you'd like to gift (a single lesson or a multi-lesson course), enter the details, and once we see the booking come in we'll send you a voucher to print or email to the lucky recipient.

What's the difference between the 2.25 hour and 1.5 hour lesson?

The 2.25 hour lesson is our premium lesson at $79 (about $35 an hour) and caters for beginners and intermediates. You surf for longer, at the premium early time-slot to beat the crowds and the seabreeze, in small groups matched to your level, with easy free parking right behind our van.

The 1.5 hour lesson is a shorter beginners' "give it a go" lesson at $55 โ€” less time in the water.

If I book a course, what's the per-lesson price?

Course lessons are discounted from the single price. A 2-day course is $150 ($75 each), 3-day is $210 ($70 each), 4-day is $260 ($65 each), and 5-day is $295 ($59 each). You get up to twelve months to complete your course, booking lessons whenever you want to surf. We need at least 24 hours' notice to cancel a lesson.

Do course lessons have to be on consecutive days?

Not at all โ€” your lesson days are entirely your choice, and don't need to be consecutive. If you know the dates you'd like in advance you can nominate them; otherwise pick your first date and decide the rest later. You have up to twelve months to complete the course.

Which course should I book โ€” Level 1 or Level 2?

If you're popping up cleanly in one motion in white water and small green unbroken waves, and doing small turns, you're ready for Level 2. If you're not sure, book Level 1 (tick the box to say you've surfed before) and we'll assess you in lesson one and tailor a program to suit. Some people get bumped up to Level 2 after just one or two lessons.

Why surf the early lesson time?

Early mornings can be hard to wake up for, but they give the best surf conditions โ€” no wind and no crowds โ€” plus easy free parking right behind our surf van.

What do I need to bring?

Wear your bathers, and bring a small bag for your clothes and a towel to dry off. We'll lock your bag in the back of our trailer or van while you surf. Everything else is included: top-of-the-range O'Neill wetsuits and B Softboards.

How do I book my course lessons?

When you buy a 2 to 5 lesson course, pick your first day on the booking calendar. On the next page, write down your other preferred dates or simply write "book later". The system sends a confirmation email, then within 24 hours we'll send another email with a booking number and a link to book your remaining lessons whenever you're ready.

Where can I get a good softboard to practise on?

The right softboard makes all the difference between loving and hating surfing. If you're not sure which board suits you, come in for a chat and we'll give you some honest advice. You shouldn't need to pay over $320 for a good-quality softboard.
